Church Architects Houston. The Catholic Community of St. Benedict the Abbot in Southwest Houston had been worshiping in a temporary worship space for nearly 40 years. After a rich growth to nearly 2,000 families, they were blessed with the capacity to expand their facilities to include a new 600 seat worship space.
Studio RED helped the church Master Plan and develop a growth strategy that directly related to the parish needs. To create a design
that captured the spirit of the congregation while also meeting their practical needs, Studio RED collaborated closely with the parishioners. The building seamlessly integrated a day chapel for daily mass as well as a large Narthex for fellowship between masses. The appropriate liturgical spaces were created for a working sacristy, priests sacristy, liturgical ministry areas and robing rooms.
The 10,000 sf facility accommodates the diversity of faith within the congregation.
About Studio Red
The philosophy of Studio RED Architects began with a desire to create a firm that was different and better. We asked clients what they wanted in an architecture firm and what we heard was:
“Someone who is innovative, understands the big picture, but is also practical and will work within the budget.”
“We want to know that we really will get to work with the principals.”
“Architects, who go out of their way to listen, solicit input and pay attention to details.”
“Experience to know what works and doesn’t, but are not afraid to try new things.”
Fueled with our passion to provide quality architecture, with an insistence on design excellence, superior project management and outstanding service, Studio RED was created.
